# Everything your AI receptionist does

Julius Answer by DealsFlow is a full front desk on the phone. Every feature below is included on every plan, from the first call of your free trial.

## On the call

### Answers every call, 24/7

A natural voice greets callers with your business name, says it's an AI assistant and that the call is recorded, and helps right away. It answers 1 call at a time on Starter, 3 at once on Pro and 10 on Business.

### Your receptionist, your way

Choose its spoken name (Julius by default), voice and tone: professional, friendly, direct, consultative or energetic. Write your own greeting if you like.

### Answers from your information

Services, prices you want to share, service area, hours, holidays, policies and the answers you've taught it. It never invents a price, a time or a promise.

### Learns what it didn't know

When it can't answer, it says so, takes a message and saves the question. You answer it once in the console and it knows it on the next call.

### Books appointments

Appointments, estimate visits, consultations, reservations or classes. It checks open times, offers up to three, confirms the caller's choice, and books it as a request you approve with one tap.

### Takes messages that make sense

Name, best number or email (read back to confirm), what it's about, and when to call back. "Before 3 p.m. today" becomes a real due time on your list.

### Puts callers through

Tell it who handles what ("send billing calls to Sam"). It connects the caller and, if nobody picks up, takes a message instead.

### Remembers returning callers

Recognizes regulars by caller ID, greets them by first name and remembers lasting details, like a preferred morning slot or a job they planned for spring. Never card numbers or health details.

### Knows what's urgent

Emergencies get "hang up and call 911" first. Urgent business problems, like a burst pipe or no heat, are flagged urgent for your team.

### Screens the noise

Sales pitches, robocalls and wrong numbers are handled politely and kept off your phone. Block numbers, or mark priority callers.

### Speaks the caller's language

Replies in Spanish or another language when the caller speaks it; a bilingual greeting can offer Spanish up front.

### Protects private details

It never gives out personal numbers or addresses, never reads stored details back to an unverified caller, and ignores callers who try to change its instructions.

## After the call

### A summary of every call

By email, with what the caller wanted and what happens next, plus alerts for urgent messages, booking requests and missed calls. Your Home page counts the last 30 days: calls answered, after hours, bookings.

### Slack, in one click

"Add to Slack", pick a channel, done. Choose which events post there.

### Zapier, Make and webhooks

Send each call and alert as signed JSON to any address, and connect Julius Answer to the rest of your tools.

### Google Calendar

Julius Answer never offers a time you're busy, and confirmed visits appear on your calendar. A private calendar link works with Apple Calendar and Outlook.

### A built-in CRM

Every caller becomes a client record with calls, bookings, tasks and notes. Ask questions in plain English, like "Who called about a water heater this week?"

### Follow-ups by text or email

A missed-call message and appointment reminders, on from the start. Add a note after each call, a "still need help?" message for callers who didn't book, or a review request. You choose the wording; cancelled bookings get no reminder.

### Texting from your number

After a one-time carrier registration in the console, Julius Answer texts callers who agree: a link they asked for, a confirmation, a reminder. Replies land in the caller's record with a suggested answer, and alert you. [How texting works](/docs/texting-and-follow-ups/)

### Your data, anytime

Download every call, contact, task and booking as spreadsheets (CSV) whenever you want.

### ChatGPT, Claude and your own software

Connect your AI apps to the receptionist (MCP), or use the REST API with a key. You decide what each one may do. [How to connect them](/docs/connect-ai-apps/)

## Setup and account

### Set up by typing or talking

The setup assistant changes any setting for you: hours, services, team, greeting, connections and billing. Give it your website and it drafts your services, prices and hours for you to check.

### A local number, included

A number in your area code is set up automatically after you subscribe. Or keep yours and forward it, all calls or only missed ones.

### Everything in one place

Sign-up, payment, number, Slack and calendar all happen inside the console. No other website, no API keys.

### Team logins

Give staff their own sign-in to see calls, follow up on messages and confirm bookings.

### Works on your phone

The console works in any browser, on a computer or a phone.

### Fair billing

Every feature on every plan, monthly or yearly with two months free, extra minutes that never expire, change or cancel in the console. [See pricing](/pricing/).

## What Julius Answer doesn't do (yet)

We'd rather you know before you sign up:
- No marketing or bulk texts, and no texts to people who haven't called you. Texting needs US carrier registration first, and the AI only suggests replies to texts: a person sends them.
- No outbound calls, sales or otherwise. When a caller asks for a call back, it goes on your team's list with a real time.
- No live human agents: it's an AI receptionist, and it says so.
- No HIPAA Business Associate Agreement today. Medical practices that need one should [talk to us](/contact/) first.
- No native HubSpot, Salesforce, ServiceTitan, Jobber or Clio integration yet; use webhooks, Zapier or Make in the meantime.

## Never miss another call

Set up in about ten minutes. 7-day free trial, no contract, and you keep your business number.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Julius Answer work after hours?

Yes. It answers 24/7, including nights, weekends and holidays. You can also set holidays, special opening hours, an away mode and a short notice for callers, and it tells callers accordingly.

### Which languages does it speak?

Natural American English by default. When a caller speaks Spanish or another language, it replies in that language for the rest of the call, and you can turn on a greeting that offers Spanish up front. Notes and summaries are written in English.

### Can it send text messages to callers?

Yes, from your Julius Answer number, once your business is registered with the US carriers in the console (carrier review can take days or a few weeks). It texts only callers who agreed, plus one text after a missed call, never marketing texts, and honors STOP. Replies come to you with a suggested answer to edit or send; nothing goes out by itself. See [texting and follow-ups](/docs/texting-and-follow-ups/).

### Does it integrate with my CRM?

Julius Answer has a built-in CRM, so every caller becomes a client record automatically. To send calls to another CRM or app, connect a webhook or use Zapier or Make. Native integrations with other CRMs are not available yet.

### Can it make outbound calls?

No. Julius Answer answers incoming calls and doesn't place calls itself, sales or otherwise. When a caller asks for a call back, it saves the call-back with a real time on your team's list, and you're alerted when it comes due.

### Does it work with ChatGPT, Claude or my own software?

Yes. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another AI app to your receptionist (it's a remote MCP server), or use the REST API with a key from your console. You choose whether an app can only read, do day-to-day work, or change the setup. See the [API and MCP docs](/docs/).

### Is my data safe?

Each business's data is kept separate, payments go through Stripe, and you can download everything at any time. Clinics and law firms keep caller details out of emails by default. See [security](/security/).
