Your business software
Connect the apps you run the business on, in Settings under Your software. Julius then sends each customer's call there, books or adds visits, and recognizes callers who are already your customers.
Julius Answer connects to 16 business apps. Each customer's call goes in the way that app expects it, visits are booked into a booking calendar or added as records, and while someone is on the line Julius looks up their number so customers already on file are recognized. Connecting is included on every plan and takes a sign-in or a key you paste from the app.

Booking calendars
Square Appointments, Acuity Scheduling, Calendly, GoHighLevel and NexHealth are booking calendars. When one is connected and set as your booking calendar:
- Callers hear your app's real openings. Julius fetches the open times ahead (about every 10 minutes; every 30 for NexHealth) so a call never waits on your app, and offers only those that also fall inside your Julius opening hours and booking rules. If the latest copy is too old, Julius falls back to your opening hours until it's fresh again.
- You choose when it's booked. By default the visit is booked in your app when you confirm it in Julius. Or choose "right away": Julius books it in your app within a minute or so, then confirms it with the caller by email or text, as you would.
- Services are matched. Choose which service, event type or calendar phone bookings go to. If you list services in Julius, each one is matched to the app's by name, and you can change any match.
- A time your app refuses (it filled up, or your plan doesn't let apps book) puts a task on your team's list to book it by hand. With "right away", the caller isn't told it's booked until your app has taken it.
- One booking calendar at a time. Any number of other apps can still receive calls and visits.
Without a booking calendar, Julius uses your opening hours and, if it's connected, your Google Calendar's busy times.
Knowing your customers
While someone is on the line, Julius looks up their number in your connected apps. A caller who is already your customer there is treated as a returning customer from then on, even if they never called Julius before; the receptionist doesn't read anything from your app to them. The caller's card in the console links straight to their record. A number that isn't found is checked again a few days later.
Privacy
- Your app gets a short summary of the call, the caller's name, number, email and address when they gave them, and a link to the call in Julius. Recordings and transcripts stay in Julius. Switch summaries off for any app and it gets only who called, when, and the link.
- Clinics and law firms: summaries start off for every app except software made for them (Clio Grow for a law firm), and visit reasons and details stay in Julius for every app.
- Keys and sign-ins are stored encrypted and are never shown again, in the console or through the API. Disconnecting forgets them.
- Only the account owner or an admin can connect, change or disconnect apps.
When something goes wrong
- Your app is slow or down: Julius tries again with growing waits, up to 8 times.
- Your app refuses one item (a required field, a full time slot): it's listed under the app in Settings with the app's reason and waits until it changes.
- Your app stops accepting Julius (the key was deleted, the plan changed): the connection pauses, the reason shows in Settings and a task goes on your list. Fix it in the app, then press I fixed it, check again, paste a new key, or sign in again; what was waiting goes through.
Other software
For apps not listed here, each call, booking request and alert can go to a signed webhook, Zapier or Make (Settings, Connections), or your developers can use the REST API and events. The API's list_apps operation (GET /api/v1/apps) shows which apps are connected and working; connecting them happens in the console.
Frequently asked questions
Something else?Write to us and we'll answer.
Are calls from before I connected sent?
No. Julius sends calls summarized after you connect, so your app isn't flooded with old ones. Visits you confirm, move or cancel after connecting are sent.
Can I connect more than one app?
Yes, as many as you use: for example Jobber for jobs and HubSpot for marketing. Only one app can be the booking calendar Julius offers times from.
Does my app see the whole conversation?
It gets a short summary of the call, the caller's details and a link to the full call in Julius (where only your team can open it). Recordings and transcripts stay in Julius. You can switch summaries off for any app.
What happens when I disconnect?
Julius stops sending to that app straight away and forgets its key or sign-in. Everything already sent stays in your app.
